David Kealy

Dr. David Kealy is an Assistant Professor in the Psychotherapy Program and Institute of Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia.  David’s current research, supported by a SSHRC Insight Grant, is focused on psychosocial intervention to enhance young adults’ personal identity and wellbeing.  This work is part of a broader program of research examining identity-related mental health difficulties, individual differences and specific treatment implications, and the process and outcome of psychotherapy.

David’s work has been recognized internationally by early-career research awards from the Western Psychological Association and the Society for Exploration of Psychotherapy Integration.  David was awarded a MSFHR Scholar award in 2019.
