Dana Lao

Dana Lao is a Master of Science student in the Experimental Medicine program at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Working in the lab of Dr. Megan Levings at the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, her research focusses on developing and evaluating therapies for conditions relating to autoimmunity such as type I diabetes and graft-versus-host disease. Dana is the lead trainee for the UST1D2 clinical trial which aims to assess the effectiveness and safety of a targeted treatment for newly diagnosed type I diabetes patients. She previously completed her undergraduate studies at UBC with a major in microbiology and immunology.
