Dr. Daljeet Chahal completed his MD at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He also completed training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology at UBC. Dr. Chahal then completed a fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. During this time, Dr. Chahal was a recipient of a CASL-CLF Clinical Fellowship Award and a UBC Friedman Award. He then returned to VGH and UBC as a Gastroenterologist/Transplant Hepatologist, and has also undertaken a research position under the supervision of Dr. Mypinder Sekhon. Dr. Chahal’s research focuses on clarifying physiologic mechanisms that occur during withdrawal of life support measures, and how these mechanisms may impact clinical practices pertaining to DCD organ donation in varied donor populations.
