Dr. Carla Hilario is a nurse scientist with expertise in youth mental health and implementation science. Dr. Hilario’s research program investigates the structural and social determinants that shape young people’s health, particularly mental health, and draws on diverse types of information and evidence to co-design, implement, and evaluate interventions using equity-oriented implementation science approaches. A set of interrelated research projects is underway and includes studies focused on social determinants of mental health service use among youth, population trends in racism and youth mental health, and research priorities to address youth health equity across Canada.
