Dr. Britt Drögemöller is a postdoctoral fellow at the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of British Columbia. As a member of the Canadian Pharmacogenomics Network for Drug Safety, her research is focused on using large-scale genomic analyses for precision medicine applications to improve drug safety. In this position, Drögemöller leads studies that incorporate genomic and bioinformatic analyses to identify the genetic predictors of severe adverse drug reactions to chemotherapy. This research is complemented by her involvement in studies utilizing genome and exome sequencing to identify variants causing rare diseases, with the aim of improving the diagnosis and treatment of these patients. Further to this, Drögemöller is also part of the Human, Hereditary and Health (H3) Africa Pharmacogenomics Working Group, which is focused on the characterization of pharmacogenomic variation in the genetically diverse and under-represented populations residing in Africa.
