Dr. Brent Page

Dr. Brent Page completed a H. B. Sc. (Hons) Chemistry at the University of British Columbia, a PhD in Organic and Biological Chemistry from the University of Toronto and then completed postdoctoral research at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. He is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia, and a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar. His main research focus is to develop new cancer treatments using cutting-edge chemical biology technologies.

His work involves developing new methods to detect interactions between experimental compounds and cancer drug targets in biochemical and biological settings. Using these techniques, his lab screens for promising inhibitors and then optimizes these into potential drug molecules using medicinal chemistry techniques. His work combines aspects of chemical, biological and health sciences with the goal of producing new medicines to treat cancer patients.
