Bobby Ryane

Bobby Ryane is a graduate student in Chemistry at the University of Victoria and Founder and CSO of Ryane Innovative Research Labs Inc., an environmental technology company in British Columbia. His research focuses on advanced photocatalytic materials, specifically titanium dioxide nanotube arrays, for degrading persistent water pollutants like PFAS.
His current Mitacs-supported work aims to scale TiOâ‚‚-based electrophotocatalytic systems to enable sustainable PFAS removal from saline and freshwater sources. This interdisciplinary research bridges materials science and environmental engineering to translate catalyst innovations into real-world water treatment solutions.
Bobby holds a BSc in Chemistry from Mahidol University and brings experience in pollutant degradation pathways and semiconductor surface chemistry, combining scientific expertise with entrepreneurial vision. This project, supported by Mitacs and Health Research BC, aims to translate academic innovation into practical water treatment technologies. Bobby is committed to improving public health through scalable, sustainable solutions for communities impacted by environmental contaminants.
