Barbara Mitchell

Dr. Barbara A. Mitchell, PhD, is a professor of sociology/anthropology at Simon Fraser University. Her research interests include families and aging; families, communities and health; ethnocultural diversity; intergenerational relations; mixed methods; and social policy. As primary investigator, she recently completed a four-year SSHRC-funded project focused on Metro Vancouver older adults and life course transitions, with emphasis on issues related to family stress and well-being and cultural diversity.
