Anthony Wong

Anthony Wong is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Fabio Rossi at the School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME) at the University of British Columbia (UBC). His Health Research BC-funded project is part of a national multi-disciplinary collaboration focused on developing and advancing next-generation RNA vaccine technologies against viral and bacterial pathogens, with a focus on SARS-CoV-2. In addition to immunology and vaccines, Anthony also has an acute interest in socio-cultural factors impacting public health, such as vaccine hesitancy, on which he is working with the Bridge Research Consortium (BRC).

Anthony earned his PhD in Fundamental Immunology at the University of Toronto in 2024, under the supervision of Dr. Slava Epelman at the University Health Network. His thesis focused on defining the heterogeneity of tissue-resident macrophages in the heart and other organs using in vivo fate mapping tools and sequencing techniques, and his research has been published in high-impact journals. Outside of research, Anthony is passionate about undergraduate life science education and is an aspiring educator.
