Ellie Griffith

Assistant Vice President, Research Programs

As Assistant Vice President, Research Programs, Ellie Griffith provides strategic leadership for Health Research BC’s research funding portfolio, guiding the development, integration, and enhancement of programs that advance the organization’s strategy and strengthen BC’s health research system.

 

Ellie joined Health Research BC in 2022, bringing more than 20 years of experience in funding program design, oversight, and partnership development. Previously, she led Genome BC’s Research and Innovation team, overseeing its programs, project portfolio, and health sector development initiatives. She holds a PhD in cancer genetics from the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research in Glasgow, UK.

 

Ellie is passionate about supporting BC’s exceptional health research talent, building stronger partnerships and collaborations, and advancing the province’s thriving life sciences sector to ultimately improve the health of people and communities. Ellie takes a person-centred approach to leadership and believes trusted relationships are core to all that we do.

 

Outside the office, Ellie enjoys time with her spouse and two kids, exploring the outdoors on feet, bikes, paddleboards or skis.
