Overview

Health Research BC and the Breast Cancer Society of Canada partnered to co-fund breast cancer research with a focus on patient-centered approaches. This collaboration supported BC-based researchers working to improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. The Breast Cancer Society of Canada was inspired by one family’s search for a cure and had a mission to engage in grassroots fundraising that supported patient-focused research for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of breast cancer. The organization embraced a grassroots philosophy through a strong belief in one-on-one connections with donors, event organizers, and business partners. With the help of dedicated volunteers across Canada, it aimed to “support its supporters” and believed that every dollar raised brought us one step closer to a cure.
