The background is blue, complementing the overall professional and academic theme.

Knowledge Translation (KT) Canada’s Summer Institute is coming to Vancouver for the first time on June 17-19, 2025. This national event brings top experts from BC and across Canada to dive into both the science and practice of KT.

Exploring KT and learning health systems

This year’s theme, KT and learning health systems, will focus on the need for expertise in turning knowledge into action and applying it in real-world settings. Understanding the link between KT and learning health systems is key to bridging the gap between evidence creation and use.

Supporting the research community

For nine years, Health Research BC has supported BC-based research trainees to attend the Summer Institute. This year, we are co-hosting alongside the BC SUPPORT Unit (part of Health Research BC), KT Canada, Simon Fraser University’s Knowledge Mobilization Hub, UBC’s Knowledge Exchange Unit, the Knowledge Translation Program at Unity Health Toronto and the Ontario SPOR SUPPORT Unit. Together, we are helping researchers turn knowledge into action.

By co-hosting this event, Health Research BC is helping to accelerate the use of research evidence in practice and policy.

A deep dive into KT

The KT Summer Institute offers an intensive 2.5 days for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, junior faculty and research staff.  It’s a chance to learn from experts, expand KT practice and science skills and connect with others in the field. Sessions will explore topics such as patient involvement in research and effective KT models. A career panel of KT/implementation experts working in learning health systems will also share how their KT training has shaped their work.

Don’t miss this opportunity to grow your KT skills and connect with leading experts. Apply now for the 2025 KT Canada Summer Institute. For more information, visit the KT Canada website.
