Ellie Griffith, PhD
Assistant VP, Research Programs
Working alongside the vice-president, research programs, Ellie provides ongoing strategic leadership for the research programs portfolio, including assessing and directing an approach to integrate, improve and enhance our program offerings to ensure they reflect and deliver on Health Research BC’s three-year strategy.
Ellie brings deep experience in program and operational management of research portfolios and an extensive network of relationships within the life sciences community.
Prior to this role, Ellie was at Genome BC where she led the Research and Innovation team in the operations management of its programs, project portfolio and health sector development activities. She has over 15 years’ experience and a PhD in cancer genetics from the Beatson Institute for Cancer Research in Glasgow.
Ellie is passionate about supporting BC’s exceptional health research talent, building stronger relationships with our stakeholders, increasing meaningful collaborations, and advancing the province’s thriving life sciences sector to ultimately improve the health of the people and communities in British Columbia.
In her spare time, Ellie enjoys time with her spouse and two kids, exploring the outdoors on feet, bikes, paddleboards or skis.
