Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time (Until June 6, 2025)
Salary Range: Â $80,935- $116,344. The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidateâs relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan. Salary will be prorated accordingly for part time roles.

The Research Project Manager 1 leads and co-ordinates all aspects of the current projects undertaken by the department. The role ensures the deliverables are completed on time and on budget, as identified in the project plan. The Research Project Manager 1 identifies and tracks metrics as they relate to the project deliverables. The role provides consultation, guidance and support to designated research project staff, contractors and stakeholders.
What youâll do
- Establish detailed research project charter, plans and objectives to outline timelines and project deliverables. Execute project plan according to project methodologies, ensures successful and coordinated completion of project components, consult with stakeholders as needed and ensures readiness for project implementation.
- Track research project progress according to project plan and identified metrics. Monitor and report on the status of projects and major barriers encountered. Make recommendations to Principal Investigator or Leader regarding research projects scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome. Implements or contributes to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in the development and monitoring of research project budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resource constraints and uses best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
- Provide leadership by giving advice or guidance in situations that require interpretation and judgment.
What you bring
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Masterâs Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline
- A minimum of five (5) yearâs recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
- Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
You will have
- Experience or working knowledge of quality improvement methodology and change management is key to the success of this role.
- Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community.
- Computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commissionâs 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
- Support team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
- Work collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
- Have commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).
