Srinivas Abbina

Dr. Srinivas Abbina completed his Master of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India. In 2013, he received his PhD in chemistry from the University of North Dakota (UND), under the supervision of Dr. Guodong Du. His doctoral thesis work focused on the development of novel polymeric materials using the principles of organometallic catalysis. After graduation, he taught organic chemistry as a temporary faculty member in UND’s Department of Chemistry.

Dr. Abbina is currently a post-doctoral fellow under the supervision of Dr. Jayachandran N. Kizhakkedathu in the Department of Pathology, Centre for Blood Research (CBR) at the University of British Columbia (UBC), working on the development of novel polymeric therapeutic approaches for the treatment of iron overload and cancer diseases.
