Seonaid Nolan

Dr. Seonaid Nolan is a clinician researcher with the BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU), clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the UBC, and the physician program director for Providence Health Care’s Interdisciplinary Substance Use Program. Her research interests and expertise include substance use and harms in marginalized and underserved populations, interrelationships between substance use and HIV/HCV, and improving access and utilization of health care services among substance-using populations.

Nolan is the primary investigator of the Outcomes for Patients Assessed for Addiction Care (OPAC) Study, a co-primary investigator for An Evaluation of Safer Opioid Prescribing (AESOP) Study and co-investigator on the Optimizing patient centered-care: a pragmatic randomized control trial comparing models of care in the management of prescription opioid misuse (OPTIMA), and the Mobile Opioid Vital-signs Evaluation (MOVE) study. Nolan contributes to the Clinical Care Guidance and Education programs of the BCCSU, and is a mentor for the Canadian Addiction Medicine Research Fellowship and Research in Addiction Medicine Scholar’s Program.
