Matthew Little

Dr. Matthew Little is an epidemiologist specializing in interdisciplinary community engaged mixed methods research that examines the social and ecological determinants of food security and nutritional health. He works with in numerous international, national, and regional community partners to determine how food environments influence and constrain diet and nutrition, and to evaluate behavioural and policy interventions to improve food security and nutrition among marginalized populations. He is particularly interested in the potential impacts of climate change on population-level food security and the development of sustainable local food systems that are resilient in the face of global environmental disruption. Little’s research spans diverse settings, and he currently has ongoing projects in Southern Canada, Inuit Nunangat, and the Philippines.
