Dr. Lena Xiao MD, MSc is a Pediatric Respirologist and Sleep Physician at British Columbia Children’s Hospital and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia. Her clinical and research background is in Pediatric Sleep Medicine and Long-Term Ventilation. Using a wide range of methodologies including randomized controlled trials, qualitative methods, and observational designs, her research focuses on improving health outcomes for children with sleep-disordered breathing. She is interested in evaluating interventions for sleep-disordered breathing, assessing models of care, and understanding patient and family caregiver experiences with long-term ventilation and sleep disorders. The goal of her research program is to develop and evaluate treatment strategies cand care models for pediatric sleep-disordered breathing that will promote effective, equitable, and accessible treatments for all children.Â
