Dan Goldowitz

Dr. Dan Goldowitz, PhD, holds a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Developmental Neurogenetics and is a senior scientist in the University of British Columbia’s (UBC) Centre for Molecular Medicine and Therapeutics (CMMT) — part of the Department of Medical Genetics in the Faculty of Medicine­ — located at the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute (BCCHR). In 2009, Goldowitz led the successful application for a Networks of Centres of Excellence (NCE) in brain development — Kids Brain Health Network, (formerly NeuroDevNet) — currently serving as scientific director. Goldowitz also sits on the CHILD-BRIGHT (Child Health Innovations Limiting Disability-Brain Research Improving Growth Health Trajectories) executive committee and leads the training core tasked with developing the training program for multiple stakeholder groups.

Goldowitz received his PhD in psychobiology at the University of California at Irvine with postdoctoral work at Harvard Children’s Hospital in Boston, the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, and the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City. He has held roles at Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia and the University of Tennessee Health Science Centre in Memphis.
