Health Research BC and Interior Health (IH) partner to fund researchers whose work improves wellness and quality of life across British Columbia’s Interior. Together, we’ve supported projects like Dr. Christine Voss’s study on physical activity and chronic disease management in children living in rural and remote communities. At IH, research is care and care is research. Caring is at the heart of who they are. For over 20 years, IH has worked in partnership to support nearly 900,000 people across the Interior through innovation, care, and connection. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, health organizations, communities, and local leaders, Interior Health delivers care across 215,000 square kilometres on the ancestral, unceded, and traditional territories of the Dãkelh Dené, St’át’imc, syilx, Tŝilhqot’in, Ktunaxa, Secwépemc, and Nlaka’pamux Nations. IH honours and thanks the First Nations as the traditional stewards of these lands and waters, and acknowledges Métis Nation BC, along with the 14 Chartered Métis Communities, for their enduring connection to this land. IH is committed to building a future where everyone can access the care and information they need — free from racism and inequity.
